Gabrielle Tester

Gabrielle Tester joined BDP Pattern in its first year and has 10 years’ experience working on a wide range of architectural and interior design projects in the sports, commercial, hospitality and residential sectors. Gabrielle leads the space planning and general arrangements (GA) teams for all stadia projects in BDP Pattern. She has a detailed knowledge of the codes and best international practice that shape the planning of a stadium; from gender ratios, hospitality segmentations, operational and logistical needs, accessibility requirements and crowd flows, to regional factors such as prayer room provisions.

Gabrielle led the GA team for the Qatar Foundation’s Education City Stadium and Precinct for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which is at an advanced stage of construction, and held a design review role on Callao and San Marcos sports venues for the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. Previously in Pattern, she has worked on the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium from the outset in 2011 through to completion in 2014; the 40,000 seat Al Rayyan Stadium and Training Sites for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022; the 42,000 seat Regina Stadium in Canada; the Olympic class National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, Azerbaijan; and the Lee Valley Legacy proposal for the London 2012 Olympics Lee Valley White Water Course in London, UK. At her previous architectural practice in Australia, Gabrielle worked on a variety of projects, including commercial, hospitality and residential. The residential projects ranged from high-end private houses to affordable family and seniors housing complexes.
