The fan zone for Manchester City Football Club (MCFC), otherwise known as City Square, is located at the northern gateway of Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.

Our development of City Square includes multiconic tensile canopies and outdoor television screens showing match highlights and other entertainment. The stadium, originally built for the Commonwealth Games, has become a landmark on the east Manchester skyline supporting economic growth to the region.

The brief was to enhance the visitor experience and create a positive atmosphere for Manchester City fans alongside easing congestion before and after matches.  The outcome of the design was increased retail, leisure and recreational attractions creating a cohesive sense of place with improved access and public realm.
